Speaking at a meeting of the Russian society “Knowledge”, Medinsky drew attention to the fact that on the portal “Knowledge. Wiki has published only 22 thousand articles, while Wikipedia offers 70 million Russian-language publications.

“It seems to me that now is the time not to create new content from scratch - it’s difficult to catch up. Aggregate and use other people’s content, copy-paste all this Wikipedia, and that’s it,” RIA Novosti quotes Medinsky.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper reported that the Russian analogue of Wikipedia, the Ruviki encyclopedia, will become fully operational on January 15.

At the end of November, four fines in the amount of 8.3 million rubles, previously imposed on the Wikimedia Foundation for refusing to remove prohibited material from Wikipedia, were approved by the Tagansky District Court of Moscow.
