It was not the Central African presidency but the Russian ambassador in Bangui, present Sunday on the tarmac of MPoko airport, who announced the participation of Faustin-Archange Touadéra in the forum known as "

supporters of the fight against neocolonialism

” which is held for three days in Moscow.

With the exception of the exclamatory theme “For the freedom of Nations!” », few elements have been published on this forum. According to Russian communications channels, some 60 foreign delegations are invited to say all the bad things they think about the West and international organizations, but no list of participants was available last night.

Unlike the Saint Petersburg summit in July 2023, Faustin-Archange Touadéra will not meet Vladimir Putin, due to the

latter's “

very busy

” agenda, according to the TASS news agency. On the other hand, he will meet with Vice-President Dimitri Medvedev, who heads the party.

This visit takes place while in Bangui Russia's relays have been launched for months in a vast anti-American campaign against a backdrop of the installation of the

private security company Bancroft

. Demonstrations have been organized, a dozen Americans have been prevented from entering the Central African Republic since October; and at the beginning of January, according to the publication

Africa Intelligence

, a Bancroft employee and an advisor to the presidency were arrested and questioned for several hours by the police and Wagner's men, until the direct intervention of the head of state.

Central African President Faustin-Archange Touadéra is in the middle of a diplomatic journey. He left Bangui on Sunday February 11, making a first stop in Dubai to participate in the governance forum in recent days, an annual meeting organized by the United Arab Emirates, where he notably met aside his counterparts from Kenya and of Rwanda. This weekend, he will be in Addis Ababa for the African Union summit.
