Haaretz newspaper quoted the Israeli Ministry of Defense as saying that the Medical Rehabilitation Department has treated more than 5,500 wounded since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the Rehabilitation Department of the Ministry of Defense is preparing to receive 20,000 wounded this year, compared to 5,500 wounded received last year since the start of the war.

In a related context, Haaretz newspaper said that soldiers from the Givati Brigade refused to obey orders and carry out military missions inside Gaza City, due to the deterioration of their psychological and physical conditions.
Earlier, the Israeli government broadcasting authority reported that about 3,000 regular and reserve soldiers have been examined by mental health officers since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.
Last month, the Israeli Channel 12 said that 3,000 of those wounded in the war launched by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip were classified as “those with permanent disabilities in the army.”
An estimate by the Israeli Ministry of Defense also expected that the number of soldiers with disabilities in the war in the Gaza Strip would reach 12,500 soldiers.

Since the beginning of its devastating war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation army has admitted the killing of 569 of its members, in addition to the injury of 2,864, including 344 soldiers receiving treatment in hospitals, the condition of 30 of whom is described as serious.
It is noteworthy that Israel is concealing its real losses in the ongoing battles in the Gaza Strip, amid leaks from Israeli hospitals indicating that they are receiving much larger numbers of injured than announced.
The Israeli "Wala" website revealed that the Israeli army does not provide all the information about the wounded to its audience, for fear that this will lead to a decline in morale.
A few days ago, the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - revealed that its fighters had destroyed more than 1,108 Israeli military vehicles since the beginning of the current war on the Gaza Strip.
Al-Qassam indicated in a statement that the destroyed Israeli vehicles included 962 tanks, 55 personnel carriers, 74 bulldozers, 3 excavators, and 14 military vehicles, “which resulted in the killing and wounding of a large number of occupation officers, soldiers, and mercenaries.”
