Ventura Pérez Mariño

died this Wednesday at the age of 75, as confirmed by the mayor of the city, Abel Caballero, who has conveyed the pain of his loss.

He was Vigo's first councilor for the PSOE for half a year in 2003, in coalition with the BNG, until a vote of confidence left him without the mayoralty, which ended up passing into the hands of

, of the PP. Furthermore, in 1993, he held a seat as a deputy, although in 1995 he left the record to remain linked to the Law.

Ventura Pérez Mariño, who suffered from Parkinson's, worked as a lawyer and was a judge at the National Court.

In the judiciary, his last assignment was one of the investigative courts of Vigo and he retired in 2012, when he was 63 years old.

The mayor of the city, Abel Caballero, has referred to Ventura Pérez Mariño as a "Vigose with an extraordinary affection for the city, with dedication to Vigo throughout his life."

In an audio that he sent to the media, he expressed his "pain" for the death of the former mayor and his condolences "to his family with all his love." "For Vigo it is an irreparable loss. May a great Vigo resident and a great mayor rest in peace," said Caballero.
