The Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced that the United States and Britain launched two raids on the Bayt al-Faqih District in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, in the third targeting of the city during the day, Wednesday.

This came after the Houthis announced that 6 American-British raids today targeted the Al-Jabbana and Ras Issa areas in Al-Salif District, northwest of Hodeidah Governorate, without adding further details.

There has been no comment yet from Washington or London about the raids that targeted Hodeidah.

The Al-Jabbana area contains a Houthi air defense camp, while the Al-Salif district includes a vital seaport, according to Yemeni media.

Today, Wednesday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the strike of an anti-ship cruise missile in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, which was prepared to be launched into the Red Sea.

On Tuesday, the Houthi group announced that a US-British attack targeted Hodeidah Governorate with 3 raids.

Hodeidah is one of the most important Yemeni governorates, as it contains 3 vital ports, in addition to having a long coastal strip.

Targeting 34 ships

For his part, Houthi government spokesman Dhaif Allah al-Shami announced - earlier today during a press conference in Sanaa - that the group has targeted 34 Israeli, American and British ships since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7.

The spokesman explained that their forces targeted 14 American ships, 3 British ships, and 17 Israeli ships, stressing that "military operations in the Arab and Red Seas only target Israeli, American, and British ships."

He continued, "The United States and Britain are militarizing the Red Sea and threatening international navigation to protect Israeli navigation."

Al-Shami pointed out that the group's naval forces "detected zero for the number of Israeli ships in the Red Sea."

In solidarity with Gaza, which is facing Israeli aggression with American support, the Houthis targeted, with missiles and drones, Israeli cargo ships or those heading to Israel in the Red Sea, and affirmed their determination to continue their operations until the end of the war on the Strip.

Since the beginning of this year, a Washington-led coalition has launched raids that it says target Houthi sites in various regions of Yemen, in response to their attacks in the Red Sea, which was met with a response from the group from time to time.

With the intervention of Washington and London and the tensions taking a noticeable escalation last January, the Houthi group announced that it now considered all American and British ships among its military targets.

The attacks prompted many companies to stop traffic through the Red Sea, the most recent of which is the Greek Star Bulk Company, which announced today the suspension of its ships from crossing the Red Sea, while the United Nations called for action to end what it called the “dangerous escalation spiral” in Yemen.
