The occupation forces forced thousands of displaced people to evacuate the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, amid warnings of a massacre in Rafah if Israel insisted on carrying out a military operation.

Israeli forces have been imposing a strict siege on the Nasser complex for weeks, and have demanded the evacuation of the displaced people who were forced by the war to flee their homes and take refuge in the hospital.

The occupation army opened fire on anyone moving inside or outside the hospital, which led to the death and injury of a large number of those inside it.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) warned of the catastrophic humanitarian situation facing the displaced, medical staff, and the wounded at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

In the same context, Doctors Without Borders demanded safe passage for those trapped in the Nasser complex.

The organization said it was extremely concerned about the situation in the complex, and called on Israeli forces to ensure the safety of medical staff, patients and displaced people.

She also indicated that anyone wishing to leave the medical complex must be given a safe passage to exit.

Intense bombardment

Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues its intense bombardment west of the city of Khan Yunis, blowing up more facilities and residential squares in various parts of the governorate.

The southern neighborhoods of Gaza City and the east of Al-Maghazi camp in the center of the Strip were subjected to heavy bombardment.

In Deir al-Balah, the occupation forces bombed several areas since the early hours of this morning, and warplanes launched successive attacks on the Zawaida area, resulting in the death and injury of dozens of Palestinians.

Al-Jazeera's correspondent reported that Al-Aqsa Hospital received the bodies of martyrs and dozens of injured people after raids targeted civilian homes in various areas of the city.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression had risen to 28,576 martyrs and 68,291 injured since October 7, 2023.

The ministry said that the Israeli occupation forces committed 11 massacres in the Gaza Strip, killing 103 martyrs and 145 injured within 24 hours.

Serious consequences

In another context, Martin Griffiths, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said that military operations in Rafah could lead to a massacre in Gaza.

Griffiths called for an end to the war, saying that the international community had warned of the dangerous consequences of storming Rafah, and added that the Israeli government could not continue to ignore the calls.

He also confirmed that the residents of Rafah have little food, barely get medical care, and have no safe place to go.

Griffiths stressed that for more than 4 months, humanitarian workers have been doing what is almost impossible to help people in need, despite the risks they themselves face and the traumas they have been exposed to.
