Effects of night bombing in Russia-controlled Ukrainian Donetsk (French)

The Russian Information Agency reported - today, Wednesday, citing the Ministry of Defense - that air defense systems destroyed 9 drones launched by Ukraine over the Russian regions of Belgorod and Voronezh, in addition to the Black Sea region.

The agency indicated that two drones were shot down over the Belgorod region and one over Voronezh in southwestern Russia on the border with Ukraine, and 6 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea.

Vyacheslav Gladkov (Governor of the Belgorod Region) reported - via social media - that a woman was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries as a result of the attack.

There is no information yet from the governor of the region or the Russian Ministry of Defense about possible losses, and Ukraine has not yet issued a response regarding the attacks.

It is worth noting that both sides deny targeting civilians in their strikes on their territories, considering that their air attacks target vital energy, military and transportation infrastructure.

Attacks in Donetsk

On the other hand, Vadim Velashkin (Governor of the Donetsk Region) announced - today, Wednesday - that Russia carried out several missile attacks on the town of Seledov in this region located in the east of the country, resulting in damage to a hospital, the destruction of dozens of residential apartments, and the injury of several people.

The governor confirmed that the city was bombed twice within hours, and said via the Telegram application that reports indicate that there were 3 people, including a child, under the rubble of the hospital, noting that nearly 100 patients had been evacuated to hospitals in neighboring towns.

He added that the attack, which occurred at one o'clock this morning, caused damage to the hospital wing, and he published a video clip showing shattered windows, destroyed walls, and debris inside the medical facility, where there were patients sitting or lying on beds.

Velashkin explained that the attack followed a raid on Seledov - late yesterday - that destroyed 12 apartments in a 5-storey residential building and wounded at least 4 people, including two children.

It is noteworthy that both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians in strikes on each other's territories, and confirm that their air attacks target vital energy, military and transportation infrastructure.

Ukrainian officials pointed out that the town of Seledov - which had a population of about 24 thousand people before the war - had been subjected to increasing Russian air attacks in recent weeks.

The Donetsk region - currently 57% controlled by Russia - has been at the forefront of the conflict since 2014, when Moscow-backed proxies seized the region's administrative capital, which is also known as Donetsk, in addition to several other large towns.
