“On February 14, a representative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Lithuania was summoned to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry and was given a note of strict protest regarding Russia’s decision to put Lithuanian politicians, civil servants and other persons on the wanted list,” the department said in a statement.

Earlier, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Charge d'Affaires of Russia Oleg Zykov against the backdrop of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs putting a number of Latvian ministers on the wanted list.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put the head of the Latvian Ministry of Finance, Arvils Asheradens, on the wanted list for criminal charges.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov clarified that Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and some officials from the Baltic countries were wanted for desecration of historical memory and for hostility towards Russia.
