Through a large number of interviews and a long journey to collect information, the Qatari directors Amal Al-Muftah and Rawda Al-Thani made their way to explore the life of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The documentary, produced by the Doha Film Institute, is expected to be shown for the first time globally on February 19, as it addresses the vision of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa and his role in the country’s renaissance.

Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Doha Film Institute and Qatar Museums, Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, considered - in a press statement - the film “To the Sons of the Nation” a celebration of “the amazing journey that Qatar began under the leadership of the Father Emir. The CEO of the institution producing the work indicated that the achievements made by the Father Emir succeeded in instilling an unstoppable creative force, "and paved the way for us to become internationally known for supporting Arab voices in cinema, television, and all types of arts."

Al Rumaihi praised the efforts of the film makers in documenting the life of the Father Emir, “and turning it into a record of our most important historical moments, providing the world with a true representation of our nation’s rich history, traditions and culture.”

As for the film’s directors, Amal Al-Muftah and Rawda Al-Thani, they commented on the work by saying, “We feel honored and privileged to celebrate the premiere of the film (To the Sons of the Homeland). As filmmakers born and raised in Qatar, we have directly benefited from the vision of the Father Emir.”
