According to Stoltenberg, in 2024, European NATO countries will spend $380 billion on defense, which will amount to 3% of their total GDP.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on NATO leaders to increase military spending.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany will achieve the NATO target of spending 2% of GDP on defense for the first time in 2024 and will not deviate from it in the future.

Also, German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock expressed the opinion that it is necessary to create a single defense alliance within the European Union.
