According to the agency, high-ranking European officials understand that they should not count on Washington if necessary to protect Europe.

The material notes that if Europe were now embroiled in armed conflict, it would be completely dependent on the United States in a number of aspects.
Earlier, the Politico newspaper wrote that Europe will not be able to defend itself without US help - replacing American capabilities in NATO will require decades and billions of investments.
