Russian Ambassador to the Vatican Ivan Soltanovsky stated this in an interview with TASS.
According to him, the Pope calls for an end to religious discrimination.
“The Holy See and the Pope personally publicly call for an end to religious discrimination and defend freedom of religion,” the diplomat said.
In addition, he noted that the Pope is ready to act as a mediator on Ukraine, but the West is preventing the resolution of the conflict.
Soltanovsky also said that there is no information yet about a new meeting between Patriarch Kirill and the Pope.
