The Israeli occupation army besieged Nasser Medical Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, on Tuesday, demolished its wall, bombed its surroundings, and asked the displaced people inside to evacuate, which threatens a new massacre there.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that a child was killed by Israeli sniper fire in front of the gate of the Nasser Medical Complex, and pictures showed the child's body lying in front of the gate of the complex, while the paramedics were unable to reach him and transport him to the complex due to sniper and bombing operations.

Al Jazeera's correspondent also reported that Israeli occupation vehicles are stationed at the northern gate of Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis and are asking the displaced people to leave the hospital.

Al Jazeera's correspondent explained that the Israeli army continues to fire smoke and incendiary shells around and inside the hospital, causing fires to break out in some of its buildings.

Fires broke out inside schools surrounding the hospital after the displaced were evacuated and forced to leave. The forces also targeted with smoke bombs the buildings of schools belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) that housed displaced people in the vicinity of the complex.

Eyewitnesses reported a complete power outage from the Nasser Medical Complex, and Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the 10-year-old girl, Hala Miqdad, was martyred in the hospital’s intensive care room, after the generators stopped for several hours from the care equipment due to a lack of fuel.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli occupation army launched Quadcopter marches towards the displaced people, calling on them to leave the hospital immediately. Witnesses indicated that there were a number of martyrs and wounded in the vicinity of the hospital, where it was difficult for medical teams to transport them, due to the heavy Israeli army gunfire.

Earlier Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the death and injury of displaced people when the Israeli army shot them as they left Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis. The ministry did not announce the numbers of dead and injured. It confirmed that the occupation forces were demolishing the northern wall of the Nasser Medical Complex.

This came after the Israeli army forces asked the hospital administration to evacuate the displaced and keep the patients and medical staff, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.

The situation in the hospital is getting worse, and she pointed out that schools surrounding the Nasser Medical Complex were targeted and caught fire, which led to the fire spreading to the medical equipment store and burning it completely, in addition to the medical supplies store, which burned by 80%.

She pointed out that the administration of the Nasser Medical Complex cannot transfer the martyrs to the mortuary due to the extreme danger and that sewage water is flooding the emergency department and hindering the work of medical teams, in addition to the accumulation of waste, which threatens a health disaster.

In turn, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the Israeli army stationed near Nasser Hospital asking the displaced to leave the hospital “warns of its intention to commit a crime against them.”

Yesterday, Sunday, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed his deep concern about the situation in and around the Nasser Medical Complex, which is besieged by Israeli forces. He said in a post on the “X Platform”: We are deeply concerned about the safety of patients and health workers due to the escalation of hostilities in the vicinity of the hospital.

The UN official reiterated the necessity of protecting health at all times on the one hand, and a ceasefire on the other hand.

Since January 22, the Israeli occupation army has launched a series of intense air and artillery raids on Khan Yunis, and in the vicinity of the hospitals there, amid a ground advance of its vehicles in the southern and western areas of the city, which prompted thousands of Palestinians to flee the city.
