The fire of the family hearth is a symbol of love and fidelity; in many regions it is placed in churches or family centers so that everyone can take away the warmth of the “Heart of Russia”.
“Today, by accepting a piece of the All-Russian family hearth “Heart of Russia,” we are creating a new tradition for young families. So that every couple, touching this warm symbol, is filled with love, strength and determination to create and maintain a strong family,” noted the region’s Minister of Social Policy Irina Pastukhova during the ceremony in Krasnoyarsk.
At the same time, in many regions, lamps with the “Heart of Russia” fire were sent to municipalities. In the Altai Republic, the lamp will visit all ten districts within a year, and in the Kaluga region, a particle of fire was recently transferred to the city of Obninsk.
In the Kamchatka Territory, during the opening ceremony of the Year of the Family, there were performances by families of indigenous peoples of Kamchatka, sports dynasties, musicians' unions, large families and mothers of child heroes.
“For us, family is the main value. What we cherish and care about most. What gives us strength and what gives us the opportunity to move forward. I would like to wish that by raising our children, passing on the values that we ourselves share, we will make our country prosperous,” said Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Kamchatka Territory.
On February 8, singer Irina Dubtsova presented the song “The Main Thing is Family” at the “Russia” exhibition at VDNKh.
