“The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia has approved an indictment in a criminal case of theft of more than 200 million rubles during the implementation of the federal program “Pushkin Card,” the message says.

It is noted that three defendants in the case - entrepreneurs Emil Gurbanov and Viktor Yakubov, as well as MGIMO student Ilya Safonov - are accused of fraud on an especially large scale.

In March 2023, the Investigative Committee of Russia announced that the agency was investigating a criminal case of theft of budget funds through participation in the Pushkin Card program.

The three accused are suspected of embezzling more than 200 million rubles.
