In his greeting, he noted that currently rapid scientific progress is opening up enormous prospects in a variety of fields: biomedicine, genetic, genomic and neurotechnologies, and artificial intelligence technologies.

Putin emphasized that it is very important that the achievements of research teams and clinicians be implemented as quickly as possible into real practice, into the work of Russian hospitals and clinics. 

“I would like to emphasize that it is on an advanced technological basis that we will develop all levels of domestic healthcare - from primary care to large federal centers. And the key priority here is to build a medical care system around a person, a specific patient,” the Russian leader said.

He emphasized that this approach will improve the efficiency of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dangerous diseases, and therefore the quality and life expectancy of people.

“Such a complex, large-scale task requires the consolidation of efforts of the state, medical and scientific organizations, and technology companies. And of course, we are always open to cooperation and implementation of joint projects with foreign partners,” he concluded.

At the same time, the President thanked all representatives of the medical community for their work and wished the forum participants success.

Earlier, Putin announced the existence of a program to develop the pharmaceutical industry in Russia.
