A study by health authorities has found that in around ten years, men have increasingly resorted to vasectomy, a definitive contraception which consists of blocking sperm, via ligation of the channels which transport them from the testicles . The number of operations increased 15-fold between 2010 (1,940 vasectomies) and 2022 (30,288). Why such an increase? “Before, contraception was a women's problem. Now, it's a couple's problem.
