Milk producers were not satisfied by government announcements on the sidelines of the agricultural unrest. They decided to demonstrate this Tuesday in front of the National Assembly. They want to be heard by the government, even though they do not consider themselves well enough represented by the agricultural unions.

Milk producers demonstrated this Tuesday, February 13, in front of the National Assembly to warn of the dramatic situation of their profession. Independent producers who want to make their voice heard beyond the political discourse of the main unions. "We, what we want, and why we left our farms today, is because there is the problem of price. The unions do not raise this problem high enough and that is to that's why we come to pound the pavement here in Paris", declared Adrien Lefebvre, president of the Association of Independent Milk Producers, at the microphone of Europe 1.

"I will stop"

“I'm 33 years old. If at some point this job isn't paying, I'm going to do something else. I'm going to stop,” added the thirty-year-old. Better remuneration is also what Luc, a producer in the Meuse, is asking for. He regrets that the question of the price of milk was not sufficiently at the center of debate during the demonstrations in recent weeks.

“Today, we are paid 46 cents per liter of milk instead of 55, even 60. We are still missing 10 centimes per liter of milk. And we would like to be able to invest these ten cents,” reported the producer. Producers will walk from Place des Invalides to the Eiffel Tower distributing cartons of milk. Nearly 2,000 liters in total to alert French consumers. They challenged the deputies this morning and demanded the establishment of real French and European regulations to guarantee a fair milk price.
