Without yet being closed the chapter on the offer of a conditional pardon to Carles Puigdemont in exchange for the Junts votes for the investiture of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, a new front is opening up for the PP due to the contacts it maintained with the independence movement, after the general elections on July 23, to explore options to reach the Government.

The general secretary of Esquerra Republicana, Marta Rovira, assured this morning that the popular party proposed opening a negotiation. "After the elections, deputy Carlos Floriano proposed to Teresa Jordà [ERC's number two in Congress] that we talk," she stated in an interview in Ser Catalunya. "They wanted to form a majority, but we responded that we did not speak with the PP. Thank you, but no," explains the Republican leader about the reaction of her party.

The PP, for its part, assures that it has "never" entered into "conversations or negotiations with ERC within the framework of the investiture" and that Floriano only addressed Jordà, in an "informal and colloquial" manner in August, to tell him that " "They should let the list with the most votes govern."

Five days before the Galician elections, Rovira's revelations add to the information about the PP's contacts with Junts in which he studied for 24 hours the legality of an amnesty for those accused of the process and Feijóo's predisposition to grant a pardon conditioned to Puigdemont.
