China News Service, February 13. According to reports from Reuters and Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao, 98-year-old former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was hospitalized again. A spokesman for his office confirmed on the 13th that Mahathir had been admitted to the National Heart Center, but did not disclose the reason for admission.

  According to reports, Mahathir has been in and out of the National Heart Center many times due to heart and lung problems in recent years, and was admitted to the hospital three times in 2022 alone.

  According to previous reports, Mahathir suffered a heart attack in 1989 and underwent heart bypass surgery at the National Heart Center, and underwent a second surgery at the center in 2007.

  On December 17, 2021, Mahathir went to the National Heart Center for a "systemic medical examination" and was hospitalized for observation. He was discharged from the hospital on the 23rd of the same month.

  He underwent surgery on January 7, 2022, and was discharged from the hospital on January 13. Unexpectedly, seven days later due to abnormal conditions, he was hospitalized again on January 20, during which time it was reported that he was critically ill.

  Afterwards, Mahathir was transferred from the intensive care unit to the general ward and was not discharged until February 5, 2022. He later posted a video saying that he indeed thought he had "reached the end of his life."

  On August 31, 2022, Mahathir was admitted to the National Heart Center due to infection with the new coronavirus and was discharged from the hospital on September 4 of the same year.

  On August 1, 2023, Mahathir entered the National Heart Center due to bacterial infection, and social media once reported that he was in "critical condition." He was discharged from the hospital on August 4 after three days in the hospital.
