The administrative court confirmed, Monday, in an interim decision the suspension of public subsidies for the Averroès Muslim high school in Lille. As estimated by the Northern Prefecture, the court accuses the establishment of providing teaching in contradiction with the values of the Republic.

The State cuts funding from the Averroès high school. The administrative court confirmed Monday, in an interim decision, the suspension of public subsidies for the Muslim establishment Averroès in Lille which is accused of providing teaching in contradiction with the values of the Republic. In its argument, the administrative court points in particular to Muslim ethics courses composed on the basis of a sulfurous work.

This educational support affirms, for example, the inequality between men and women, the superiority of divine law or even the application of the death penalty in the event of renunciation of Muslim belief. Added to these grievances are two mandatory inspections by National Education, which the establishment allegedly evaded, notably during an unannounced inspection of the high school's documentation center in June 2022.
