Less than two weeks before the opening of the Agricultural Show, the agricultural unions are not letting up the pressure on the executive. They announce a resumption of mobilizations if the measures announced by the government are not quickly implemented.

Ten days after the lifting of the blockages, Gabriel Attal met this Tuesday in Matignon with representatives of the FNSEA and Young Farmers (JA). Agricultural unions are threatening to resume mobilizations if the measures announced by the government are not followed up less than two weeks before the Agricultural Show.

“The announcements must come to fruition”

Behind his desk, Mathieu Maronez is chomping at the bit. The cereal grower, a member of the Young Farmers of Haute-Garonne union, has his nose buried in his files. He is waiting for the Prime Minister's promises to be implemented. Even if he is aware that it will take time.

“We know the speed of the French administration and we cannot want everything in a week. These announcements must indeed come to fruition. But let's let the State do the basic work so that these announcements become concrete,” explains he spoke at the microphone of Europe 1.

“Anger cannot be extinguished in a week”

However, the farmer does not admit defeat. Mathieu Maronez even remains determined and large-scale actions cannot be ruled out. “We remain very vigilant to ensure that the work is done. And if it is not done, we will make the same mess that we have made on the roads and among manufacturers for two weeks. Anger cannot be "extinguish in a week. It will gradually disappear if the announcements materialize", he explains.
