Recently, most parts of the country have been experiencing mostly sunny to cloudy weather, with temperatures rising. After a short period of warming, today (13th), a new round of cold air is coming. The stronger cold air will affect our country from west to east. The temperature in some areas will drop by more than 10℃, and precipitation will also increase.

Strong cold air hits, and the temperature drops by more than 10℃ in some areas

The first cold wave in the Year of the Dragon will appear after the holiday

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that from the 13th to the 15th, due to the influence of strong cold air, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the north will experience northerly winds of magnitude 4 to 6 and gusts of magnitude 7 to 9 from north to south; the temperature will generally drop by 4 to 8℃, with some areas dropping by 10 to 12℃, and the local temperature in Northeast China can reach about 14℃.

According to the mid-term forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, from the 17th to the 21st, a cold wave will affect most areas of my country from west to east and from north to south. The temperature has dropped by 6 to 10℃, in some areas to 12 to 16℃, and locally above 18℃. China Weather Network stated that this will be the first cold wave in the Year of the Dragon.

The Central Meteorological Observatory will continue to issue blue warnings for strong winds at 6:00 on the 13th. From 8:00 on the 13th to 8:00 on the 14th, there were strong winds in parts of central and western Inner Mongolia, southern Heilongjiang, central and western Jilin, central and northern Liaoning, eastern Xinjiang, central and western Tibet, and western Qinghai.

From 8:00 on the 14th to 8:00 on the 15th, there were level 5 to 6 winds and gusts in some areas of central and western Inner Mongolia, central and southern Liaoning, eastern Huanghuai, eastern Jianghuai, central and southern Jianghan, northern Hunan, central Tibet, and southwestern Qinghai. Level 7 to 8.

After the cold air passes, temperatures everywhere will rebound quickly

There will be no impact from rain or snow during the peak holiday return period.

Since the temperature rise was very obvious in the early stage, this round of cold air is mainly to "correct" the obviously high temperature in the early stage. Temperatures in the north and south will briefly drop back to normal levels for the same period of the year.

After the cold air passes, temperatures in various places will rebound quickly. The temperatures in the eastern part of northwest China, the Huanghuai River and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will rise to a higher level and continue to hit new highs this year. On the 18th, the maximum temperature in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will reach around 25°C. Local areas in Jiangsu and Anhui may be warmer than usual during the same period.

Today, there is light to moderate snow in parts of central and northeastern Inner Mongolia, northwest Heilongjiang, the Ili Valley in Xinjiang, and the northern and eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Tomorrow, there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of southeastern Heilongjiang, central and eastern Jilin, northwest Xinjiang, eastern and southern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and eastern Huanghuai, with local heavy snowfall. There will be light to moderate rain in parts of the southeastern part of Northwest China, the eastern and southern parts of Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, northern and western Jiangnan, the eastern part of Southwest China, and northern Guangxi.

Since the temperature in the south has cooled down, the temperature has not been low enough for snowfall. This time it is mainly rain, so you don’t have to worry about snow and ice affecting travel. The precipitation brought by the strong cold air will continue until the 15th. During the peak return period from the 16th to the 17th, the precipitation will subside in most areas of the central and eastern regions, which will be beneficial to the return journey.

However, as the cold wave moves southward after the holiday, rain and snow will develop in the central and eastern parts. From the 19th to the 20th, rain will turn to sleet or snow in Huanghuai, Jianghuai, and Jianghan. There will be light to moderate rain south of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, with localized Heavy rain; freezing rain in Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Hunan, and Guizhou. Everyone needs to pay attention to the nowcast to prevent the adverse effects of rain and snow on traffic.

Meteorological experts remind that the temperature in most parts of my country has continued to rise recently, but due to the influence of cold air, the temperature will fluctuate in the later period. Please pay attention to adjust your clothing in time when going out to prevent colds. Visibility is low in some areas in North China, Huanghuai, Jianghuai and other places. Pay attention to the impact of low visibility on traffic, drive safely and abide by traffic regulations. (CCTV News Client)
