“Prolonged hospitalization is not expected. We expect that the minister will be able to return to his normal duties tomorrow,” the statement said.

On February 11, the United States reported that Defense Secretary Austin was again hospitalized, this time with suspected bladder problems. Prior to this, the head of the Pentagon was treated for prostate cancer.

Austin is currently in the intensive care unit and his release date is unknown. The official transferred his authority to his deputy, Kathleen Hicks.
