RT got acquainted with the response of the Prosecutor General's Office to the appeal of the head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption, Vitaly Borodin.

Previously, he appealed to the supervisory agency with a request to check the legality of collecting signatures as part of Boris Nadezhdin’s presidential campaign.

The notice from the Prosecutor General’s Office notes that in accordance with Article 8 of Federal Law No. 59 “On the procedure for considering appeals from citizens of the Russian Federation,” the public activist’s application will be forwarded to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs must review it and inform the applicant about the results.

As RT reported, Borodin in his appeal claims that, in addition to volunteers, citizens were involved in collecting signatures in support of Nadezhdin for financial reward.

After the Russian Central Election Commission refused to register Boris Nadezhdin as a candidate for the presidential election, the politician announced his intention to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
