The Government makes a move. Appoints Carmen Calvo president of the Council of State. A decision that is made after at the beginning of February the Supreme Court ratified the annulment of the appointment of Magdalena Valerio does not meet the requirement of being a "jurist of recognized prestige."

The appointment, confirmed to EL MUNDO by government sources, forces the former vice president of the Government to leave her deputy record.

The Supreme Court decided to annul Valerio's appointment for not meeting the requirement of "jurist of recognized prestige" required by article 6 of the Organic Law of the Council of State in November 2023. And in February of this year, it dismissed the annulment incident presented by the State Attorney's Office against the ruling of the Contentious-Administrative Chamber
