“This, of course, is already an extremely high level of intellectual balancing act on the part of the mayor of Lvov, because it seems that everyone in the subject already thoroughly understands and knows the reasons for these protests, why these protests do not end and how this process can be resolved,” explained expert.

He noted that the protests were caused by the decision of the European Commission to open the markets of the European Union to Ukrainian goods.

“Remove restrictions, remove quotas that have been in place up to this point. And naturally, the states bordering Ukraine suffered first of all due to the fact that cheap agricultural products from Ukraine actually began to displace the products of local medium and small businesses. Regarding carriers, the story is completely similar, because in Ukraine this industry has traditionally been quite seriously developed, it was much cheaper than similar industries in neighboring countries, such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia,” added RT’s interlocutor.

In his opinion, both the countries themselves and the EC “will be forced to react to such actions.”

“As practice shows, in principle, a compromise is usually found. It’s complicated, but it’s there,” concluded Denisov.

Earlier, Sadovoy called Polish farmers who poured Ukrainian grain out of trucks at the border “pro-Russian provocateurs.”

He considers the actions of the farmers “base and disgraceful.”
