Rafah on the Egyptian border (Al Jazeera)
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip during 4 consecutive months, the people of the Strip there have been fleeing from one place of danger to another place in search of safety, until more than a million people ended up in Rafah in Gaza.
Rafah represents the last refuge for Palestinians fleeing the ongoing Israeli bombing, and figures indicate that there are about 1.4 million Palestinian citizens in the region after the Israeli occupation army forced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip to flee to the south.
On the other hand, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that the city of Rafah is witnessing violent Israeli raids concentrated in the center of the city, targeting populated homes opposite the headquarters of the Crescent Society, and more than 100 Palestinians were martyred in Israeli air strikes on Rafah.
The hashtag #Rafah_under_bombardment invaded social media platforms, as users browsing the platforms followed what was happening in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip since the beginning of the bombing, and videos spread showing the new massacre at dawn on Monday committed by the Israeli occupation army against citizens in Rafah.
Journalist Hani Abu Rizq posted on his Instagram page a video showing an injured woman who arrived at the Kuwaiti hospital as a result of the continuous bombing of the city of Rafah, screaming among a crowd of injured people, “Why did they bomb us in Rafah? Is the area they talked about safe?”

Tweeters said that what happened might be assassinations and targeting of resistance fighters, or it might be to create a state of terror and chaos, prompting people in Rafah to flee via Al-Rashid Street towards the center or towards the south towards Egypt. It is possible that this was to put pressure on the mediators and the resistance before the Israeli delegation arrived in Cairo, and that Netanyahu received the green light from Biden and is now moving based on that.
My assessment is that what happened in #Rafah tonight is not the beginning of a ground incursion, at least for the moment.

Tweeters posted a picture of a martyred Palestinian girl, with her body hung on the wall of her house that was bombed by the Israeli occupation in Rafah. Tweeters asked about the Arab and Islamic role in stopping the Israeli massacres against the people of Gaza.

The Israeli raids launched yesterday, Sunday, on Rafah, destroyed the Al-Huda Mosque in the Yabna camp, the Al-Rahma Mosque in the Shaboura camp, and 14 residential homes, and pictures spread of children collecting books of the Qur’an and what remained of the two mosques.
The raids launched by the Israeli occupation army on Rafah came despite Arab, international and UN warnings, which considered them as attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed in an interview broadcast on Sunday that proceeding with the invasion of Rafah “while ensuring safe passage for the civilian population, so that they can leave.”
For the 129th day, the occupation’s aggression against the Gaza Strip continues, by land, sea and air, leaving more than 28,176 martyrs and 67,784 wounded, while thousands of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as the occupation prevents ambulance and rescue crews from reaching them.
