In response to issues surrounding factional political funding parties, the Liberal Democratic Party will begin discussions on the 13th with a working team that will consider amending the Political Funds Regulation Act. On the other hand, the opposition parties, including the Constitutional Democratic Party, plan to call for a ban on corporate and group donations based on proposals put together by each party.

In response to this issue, the Liberal Democratic Party has set up three working teams under the party's ``Political Reform Headquarters,'' and each team is scheduled to begin discussions this week.

The team chaired by Keisuke Suzuki, a former state minister for foreign affairs, will hold its first meeting on the 13th to consider amendments to the Political Funds Control Act.

The team is working on the introduction of a ``correspondence system,'' in which not only the accounting officer but also the councilor himself/herself will be held responsible in the event of malicious accounting practices, and the need to include the name on the income and expenditure report, as well as changes to party tickets. Opinions are expected to be exchanged regarding lowering the purchase price and other issues.

Meanwhile, this week in the Diet, the House of Representatives Budget Committee will continue to deliberate on the new fiscal year's budget bill, and on the 14th, Prime Minister Kishida and relevant ministers will attend, and intensive deliberations will be held on topics such as political funding issues.

The opposition parties, including the Constitutional Democratic Party, will continue to hold Prime Minister Kishida accountable for the issue surrounding political funding parties organized by factions of the Liberal Democratic Party, and are calling for a ban on corporate and group donations based on proposals compiled by each party. This is our policy.

Furthermore, we are considering requesting that a House of Representatives political ethics committee be convened, citing the need to hear explanations from members who have served as executives of the Abe and Nikai factions.
