In Voronezh, a citizen of Belarus was detained, involved in the arson committed on February 6 in Tula at the traction electrical substation of Tula City Electric Networks JSC on instructions from the Ukrainian special services. This was reported by the FSB Public Relations Center.

“A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 281 “Sabotage” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison,” the statement says.

According to the FSB, the detainee, who had previously served a sentence in Belarus for hooliganism with the use of weapons, explosives or flammable substances, in January established contact with a Ukrainian special services officer named Yuri. Ukrainian citizen Otari Danko, nicknamed Grisha Moskovsky, who was repeatedly convicted of theft, helped him establish contact. During the conversation, an employee of the Ukrainian special services recruited a citizen of Belarus and set him the task of committing sabotage and terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation for a monetary reward.

“On February 5, 2024, on Yuri’s instructions, the defendant arrived in Tula, where he made a homemade incendiary device and set fire to an electrical substation. After providing the video report to the curator, I received money on my bank card, as well as the next task - to go to Voronezh to commit arson at a transformer electrical substation and pumping station,” the FSB indicated.

It is noted that a mobile phone containing correspondence with the curator and three ready-to-use incendiary mixtures were seized at the detainee’s temporary residence.

The FSB emphasized that all organizers and accomplices of the crime, including foreign citizens, will be put on the wanted list and prosecuted in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

Countering the criminal activities of the Kyiv regime

On February 12, a local resident was detained in the Kaliningrad region who was transmitting information to an SBU officer about the socio-political and economic situation in Russia and Belarus. A criminal case was opened against him under Art. 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization.” He faces from three to eight years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million rubles.

On February 9, a resident of the Saratov region, born in 1992, was detained, who called on his acquaintance, who had signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and was serving in the area of ​​the Northern Military District, to voluntarily surrender to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Art. 352.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Incitement to voluntary surrender.” He faces up to ten years in prison.

On February 6, security forces detained a 20-year-old resident of Mordovia, who established cooperation with the SBU and agreed to commit terrorist acts at Russian enterprises for a reward. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Art. 275 “Treason.”

On the same day, a resident of the Kamchatka Territory was detained under a similar article, who, after the start of the SVO, proactively established cooperation with the SBU. The man agreed to provide information about Russian armed forces to a foreign intelligence service in exchange for unhindered travel to Russia to withdraw savings from his bank card and receive money from renting out an apartment.

On February 5, FSB officers prevented a terrorist attack in Crimea. Three citizens of the Russian Federation were detained who, on instructions from the SBU, were preparing to blow up a car in Simferopol belonging to one of the leaders of the region. A radio-controlled improvised explosive device made from a modified German-made anti-tank mine was found and seized from the attackers.
