Beware of false information, warns Caf. The organization is warning its beneficiaries of false bonuses circulating on the internet in recent weeks. Added to this are the risks of phishing by email or SMS, and scams using premium rate numbers.

The Family Allowance Fund (Caf) invites its beneficiaries to pay attention to false information circulating on the internet and social networks in recent weeks, concerning “optional” or “unpublished” bonuses which do not exist.

“No new bonus, new aid or check has been announced in recent weeks legitimizing these articles which are based on false or very partial situations,” writes Caf on its site. The organization reminds that the only way to find out your rights is to go to the official Caf.fr website, in the "My account" section, or to go to a reception point to speak directly with an advisor.

Beware of premium rate numbers

While phishing attempts have increased in recent weeks, Caf also recommends being vigilant about messages received by email or SMS. Once again, it is recommended to never click on the links, even if they do not appear suspicious, and to go directly to the site.

Likewise, the only number to reach the organization is 3220, which is not surcharged. “Many premium rate numbers are circulating on the internet pretending to be organizations that will help you complete your procedures with the Caf. These are scams,” insists the Caf.
