An alleged abuser from the Valencian town of
Montserrat
faces sentences of up to 12 years in prison for several crimes against women, including habitual abuse, and against a crime of animal abuse. And, according to Levante EMV, the man would have cut the throat of his partner's pet, a
rabbit
, in front of her just to see her suffer and later, after rubbing the blood on her face, he cooked it and wanted the woman to eat it. ate
According to the same newspaper, the man's objective was for the woman to "learn" a "lesson" for
having spit on him
. Apparently, during the four months that the relationship between them lasted, the man subjected his partner to multiple abuses, such as hitting her with a club because he did not like the clothes she was wearing, forcing her to walk on her knees over grains of rice or threaten to burn her alive in the fireplace.
The rabbit episode occurred in December 2021. Shortly after, the victim reported the abuse to the Civil Guard after another episode of abuse in which the man punched him in the eye.
