Trump threatens immigrants with massive deportations from America if he is re-elected (Anatolia)

Former US President Donald Trump welcomed the US Congress' rejection of a draft law to reform the immigration system, and pledged massive deportations of immigrants if he was re-elected as President of the United States.

Trump's welcome comes after the US Senate rejected yesterday, Saturday, a draft reform of the immigration system in the United States, despite months of arduous negotiations regarding its approval.

Reports indicate that Trump used his influence with Republican members of Congress to obstruct the draft resolution, thus depriving US President Joe Biden, who is likely to face him in the presidential elections next November, of the opportunity to achieve victory on the immigration issue.

Trump said during an election rally yesterday, Saturday, in South Carolina, “Let us not forget that this week we also achieved a major victory that all conservatives should celebrate. We crushed Joe Biden’s disastrous project.”

Trump praised the performance of Republican members of Congress and their role in obstructing the passage of the bill, and said, "The whole group did a wonderful job in Congress. We crushed it."

Trump stressed that deporting immigrants would be his top priority if he were elected president of the United States, and added, "From day one, I will end all open border policies of the Biden administration, and we will launch the largest national deportation operation in the history of the United States. We have no other choice."

The former president built his popularity in his first presidential campaign in 2016, which brought him to the White House, through his promises to fight immigration and build a wall between the United States and Mexico to limit the flow of immigrants to America.

The former president is fighting an electoral battle to win the Republican Party's nomination for the presidential elections, and expectations indicate that he is the most likely candidate to win the party's nomination, despite his trial in 4 criminal cases ranging from obtaining top-secret documents to trying to overturn the results of the previous elections, during which he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
