For Ren Siqi, a young Taiwanese actor born in the 1990s who has just ended his career in Beijing, 2023 will be his turning year. In the past year, he not only created a catering brand for the young couple in Changsha with his wife Peng Gaochang from Hunan, but also welcomed a new family member, unlocking two new categories of "entrepreneur" and "super dad" at the same time. identity.

Taiwanese young actor, restaurant manager, Hunan son-in-law... During the seven years of struggling in the mainland, Ren Siqi accumulated many "labels" for himself. These seemingly unrelated identities reveal a courage to venture and fight, which converge into his "unlimited" life. In an interview with reporters, Ren Siqi said that the confidence in his choice was attributed to the vast stage suitable for young people to grow in mainland China.

Ren Siqi is from Taipei, Taiwan, and has been passionate about performing since he was a child. After graduating from graduate school in 2017, Ren Siqi compared the entertainment circles on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and found that compared to Taiwan, which mainly focuses on campus dramas and suspense films, mainland film and television resources are richer and can give actors more room to perform.

Ren Siqi said that due to the differences in film and television shooting models between the two sides, arriving in Beijing was like "starting from scratch." "Take the selection of actors as an example. In Taiwan, you can just send your resume to the director's email. In mainland China, you need to obtain an actor's certificate in advance and take photos of the type of film and television drama in advance."

After half a year of transition, Ren Siqi began a life of constantly running teams. Since then, he has participated in the filming of various film and television dramas such as science fiction films, anti-war films, and fantasy films. In his view, actors put their feelings in life into performances and reflect reality through character creation. Therefore, no matter how big or small the role is, he tries his best to figure out the character's psychology, hoping to resonate with the audience through his performance and lead them to experience "a hundred flavors of life" together.

After the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, Ren Siqi, whose career had improved slightly, once again fell into the dilemma of having nothing to film, which also made him make a decision-to end his drift in Beijing and switch to catering.

"The valuable experience I have gained from my acting career is to learn to wait." He said that starting a new career does not mean giving up his love for acting, and the future is still exciting.

"Changsha is similar to Taiwan to some extent. The pace of life is slower and the smell of fireworks is full." Ren Siqi can still clearly remember that on the opening day, he served the freshly baked stinky tofu to the guests and watched them finish eating. An ordinary feeling of happiness that arises in the heart when giving affirmation.

Nowadays, Ren Siqi, who has returned to the true nature of life, often shares details of life in mainland China on social media, hoping to use food as a medium to attract young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to enter each other's life circles.

"Life is similar to the stage. You perform the script on stage and write the truth when you leave. The important thing is to grasp the moment and experience the process." When asked about his New Year's wish, Ren Siqi said bluntly that he hopes to continue pursuing Dreamland and grow together with it. (over)
