Russian President Vladimir Putin (Anatolia)

A report published by the Russian newspaper Izvestia confirmed that American journalist Tucker Carlson admitted - after his interview with Vladimir Putin - that he was shocked by the fact that the Russian president wanted to reach a peace agreement in Ukraine.

The report added that Vladimir Putin made it clear during the conversation that Moscow would not take the first step towards dialogue after negotiations stopped in Istanbul in March 2022.

According to experts, the interview may change views on the war, so that the American public will get a different version of the details of what is going on.

Carlson mentioned that most American citizens are ignorant of what is happening in Russia and Ukraine, so the interview should help answer all the questions. The meeting has already achieved more than 100 million views, and has caused great tension in American society, according to the Russian newspaper.

60 questions

Izvestia added that during the interview - which lasted more than two hours - the Russian President answered about 60 questions, most of which related to Ukraine and relations with the West. For the first time for a Western audience, Putin provided a detailed account of the entire historical context, justifying his words with archives and documents.

The newspaper continued that Russia had proposed on many occasions to seek a solution to the problems in Ukraine through peaceful means, and the motive behind starting the war was the failure to implement the Minsk agreements, which were signed after the events of 2014 within the framework of the peace settlement plan in Donbass.

During the meeting, Vladimir Putin repeated his position that he had previously stated on many occasions, saying, "Russia did not start the war in 2022, and its goal is to end the war that Ukraine started in 2014." However, he expressed his country's readiness to resolve the crisis peacefully, which Carlson considered surprising.

Conflict resolution

Regarding the question of why Putin does not contact his American counterpart, Joe Biden, to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, Putin said that he has nothing to talk about with the US President at the present time, because once the United States stops supplying weapons to Kiev, the conflict will end within a few weeks.

According to political analyst and former US Congressional advisor James Gateras, the interview may force members of Congress to think about the validity of supplying weapons and allocating funding to Ukraine.

Izvestia explained that currently, NATO is trying to intimidate its members with an imaginary Russian threat, a threat that could escalate into a global war, just in order to extract more money from taxpayers for the confrontation with Russia in the Ukrainian theater of military operations. The purpose of these intimidations is to weaken Russia as much as possible, according to Putin.

However, Putin believes that the West fears an economically powerful China much more than it fears Russia, because China has enormous potential, and today it is the first economy in the world in terms of purchasing power.
