China News Service, Zhuhai, February 11th (Deng Yuanwen and Wang Xiangguo) The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station released statistics on the 11th. February 9th and 10th are the New Year's Eve and the first day of the Lunar New Year. The station inspected inbound and outbound passengers. With more than 130,000 passengers and 21,000 vehicles, the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge ushered in the peak of arrivals during the Spring Festival holiday.

The Spring Festival is the "golden period" for Hong Kong and Macao residents to travel to the mainland and visit relatives. Driving a family to "go north" via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has become one of the most convenient ways for Hong Kong and Macao residents to travel this year.

"The elderly and children did not have to get out of the car during the whole journey. They cleared the customs in less than 2 minutes. It was very convenient and fast." Ms. Zhong from Hong Kong said that she had applied for the "Hong Kong Cars Going North" in October last year and it was her first time to drive there during the Spring Festival holiday this year. With her 5-year-old daughter and 75-year-old mother with limited mobility, she returned to her hometown in Jiangmen via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to reunite with her relatives.

"Driven by the 'Hong Kong trains going north' and 'Macau trains going north', the tourist group, mainly 'family tours' of Hong Kong and Macao residents, became the main force traveling through the port during the Spring Festival, accounting for more than 68% of the total passenger flow at the port. Lin Meihong, political commissar of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station, introduced that the new changes in cross-border travel between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao during this year’s Spring Festival holiday are behind the two-way "people enjoy their travels" and the further acceleration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Integrated development and a high-quality living circle that is “livable, suitable for business and suitable for tourism” are being formed at an accelerated pace.

According to reports, in order to ensure the safe, orderly and smooth passage of passengers and vehicles entering and exiting during the Spring Festival, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station continues to improve the border inspection and inspection links, continues to optimize vehicle registration management, maintains the border inspection and inspection system, and innovatively uses mobile inspection model to effectively improve the efficiency of port and border inspection clearance.

At the same time, the station is in close contact and communication with the Hong Kong and Macao entry-exit management departments, scientifically predicts entry and exit passenger flow information, opens additional, sufficient, and full inspection channels in advance, optimizes the emergency diversion mechanism for passenger and vehicle flows, and further optimizes the experience of inbound and outbound passengers.
