Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - announced on Sunday that two Israeli prisoners were killed in the Gaza Strip and eight others were seriously injured, in an Israeli bombing of the Strip during the last 96 hours.

Al-Qassam added that the conditions of the prisoners are becoming more dangerous in light of the inability to provide them with appropriate treatment, holding Israel fully responsible for the lives of the injured due to the continued bombing and aggression against Gaza.

The Al-Qassam Brigades also broadcast pictures of what it said was its members’ seizure of a drone that was carrying out an intelligence mission in the northern Gaza Strip.

During the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced several times that the Israeli bombing of the Strip led to the death and injury of many of its Israeli prisoners.

Last Tuesday, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced the killing of 31 Israeli detainees in Gaza, without adding any details about how they were killed.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are about 136 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, while it holds at least 8,800 Palestinians in its prisons.

It is noteworthy that accusations have been raised inside Israel that the army is responsible for the killing of many detainees in accordance with the “Hannibal Protocol” which stipulates the elimination of captors even if that means sacrificing the prisoner.

During a humanitarian truce that lasted a week in late November, Hamas released more than 100 Israeli and foreign detainees in exchange for Israel's release of about 240 Palestinian prisoners.

Since last October 7, the Israeli army has launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip, leaving 28,176 martyrs and 67,784 injured, most of them children and women, in addition to thousands missing under the rubble. It has also caused massive destruction and an unprecedented catastrophic humanitarian crisis, with scarce supplies. Food, water and medicine, and the displacement of about two million Palestinians, i.e. more than 85% of the population of the Gaza Strip.
