Zelensky announced this in a video message published on his Telegram channel.

“We continue to reset the command and control team in the defense forces,” he said.

Colonels Vadim Sukharevsky and Andrey Lebedenko were appointed as Syrsky’s deputies.

In addition, Zelensky appointed brigadier generals Vladimir Gorbatyuk, Alexey Shevchenko and Mykhailo Drapaty as deputy chiefs of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On February 9, Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Sergei Shaptala from the post of chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and appointed Anatoly Bargilevich, who commanded the defense forces, instead.

Also, Alexander Syrsky was appointed commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of Valery Zaluzhny. According to the Ukrainian “Mirror of the Week”, Pavlyuk will become commander of the ground forces instead of Syrsky.
