Deputies are receiving requests asking why advertisements of Russian companies can still be seen on the websites of foreign agents, Volodin wrote on Telegram. Thus, bloggers acting in the interests of unfriendly states and “pouring dirt” on Russia still make money from Russian citizens and domestic companies, he noted.

According to Volodin, this is unacceptable. The State Duma is currently discussing a bill that would prohibit citizens and companies from placing advertisements on the websites of foreign agents and on their social networks, he said.

“Deputies consider it necessary to deprive foreign agents of all sources of income in our country. And for those who violate the ban, provide strict penalties,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.

There are currently 569 foreign agents operating in the country, the Russian Ministry of Justice noted.
