The Houthi group said, on Saturday, that the United States and Britain targeted the Al-Saleef District in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, western Yemen, with 3 raids.

Al-Salif District is the largest district in Al-Hudaydah Governorate, and contains a strategic seaport. Al-Hudaydah Governorate is also one of the most important Yemeni governorates, as it contains 3 vital ports, in addition to having a long coastal strip.

The Houthi group announced earlier today that 17 of its officers were killed in raids launched by the United States and Britain on their country, without specifying the place and time of their killing, and they were buried in a solemn funeral procession, as it put it.

This is the second time that the group has announced casualties among its members as a result of the American-British raids.

The first time was on the day the US-British operations in Yemen began on January 12, when it announced the killing of 5 of its forces and the injury of 6 others.

A few days ago, the US Army announced that the Houthi group fired 6 ballistic missiles at two ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, adding that one of the ships reported minor damage but no casualties.

The leader of the Houthi group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, warned of escalating attacks in the Red Sea unless the aggression and siege of the Gaza Strip stopped.

Since the beginning of this year, the Washington-led coalition has launched raids that it says target Houthi sites in various regions of Yemen, in response to its attacks in the Red Sea, which was met with a response from the group from time to time.

In solidarity with Gaza, which is facing a devastating Israeli war with American support, the Houthis targeted, with missiles and drones, Israeli cargo ships or those linked to them in the Red Sea, determined to continue their operations until the end of the war on the Strip.

With the intervention of Washington and London and the tensions taking a noticeable escalation trend last January, Al-Houthi announced that it now considered all American and British ships among its military targets.
