The words of the Norwegian minister are quoted by Iltalehti.

“We must be prepared for Russia to reconsider the situation and deploy its forces in response to the membership of Finland and Sweden in NATO,” the minister said.

Gram added that Europe must accept a new reality, according to which the “Russian threat” will not disappear for a long time, and Russia itself “will not become like” Europe.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev previously called statements by Western politicians about a possible conflict extremely dangerous chatter. He recalled that the military potentials of Russia and NATO countries are not comparable, therefore, in the event of a conflict with the alliance, the Russian side, having no choice, will be forced to respond to aggression asymmetrically.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Moscow calls on Western countries, primarily EU member states, not to attribute to Russia the intention to start a war in Europe and not to impose this ideology on it.

President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Moscow has no interest in a conflict with NATO.
