“Our position has remained unchanged for many years: there can be no military solution on the battlefield. We must return to diplomacy. We are trying to convince our allies in Brussels and everywhere else of this,” he said in an interview with the Austrian newspaper Exxpress.

According to the Hungarian politician, the current path either leads to the collapse of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or to an escalation that will provoke a third world war.

He stressed that it is important first of all to restore channels of communication with Moscow, and then begin a long diplomatic mission.

Earlier, Presidential Assistant for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov said that Russia was and remains ready for dialogue with Ukraine, but there is no one there to talk to - Kyiv has forbidden itself to negotiate.
