The Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip continued, resulting in dozens of martyrs and wounded in the center and south of the Strip and in the Rafah area, in which the Israeli occupation army approved the implementation of a military operation.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that 18 people were martyred in an Israeli bombing on a residential apartment in the Al-Geneina neighborhood, east of Rafah, and on a house in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, north of the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

The bombing of Rafah coincides with the Israeli occupation army approving a military operation there, and Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that preparations for the operation in Rafah began weeks ago, and the army has already approved a plan that includes the necessity of evacuating the displaced.

For its part, the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that the military operation in Rafah will begin after the completion of a "large-scale evacuation" of civilians from the city and its suburbs.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office said that Benjamin Netanyahu had instructed the Israeli army to prepare a dual plan, including a path to evacuate Palestinians in the Rafah area, and "crushing" the brigades of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) there.

Sniper bullets

In this context, Al Jazeera's correspondent said that a Palestinian woman was martyred as a result of being shot by Israeli occupation army snipers in front of the gate of the Nasser Medical Complex, and this coincided with clashes and Israeli artillery shelling in the vicinity of the complex.

Earlier, a Palestinian was killed by occupation snipers outside the complex.

An Israeli artillery shelling on the courtyard of the Nasser Medical Complex (west of the city of Khan Yunis) left martyrs and wounded, at a time when occupation vehicles surrounded the complex.

The occupation army bombed homes in the vicinity of the complex in Khan Yunis, and opened fire towards the hospital buildings.

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the association's Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and that it lost contact with its crews in the hospital, and expressed its concern for the safety of its crews, the wounded and the sick.

In the central Gaza Strip, an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that 11 people were killed and others were injured, including children, in an Israeli air strike on a residential square in the town of Al-Zawaida.

Yesterday, Friday, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that 9 Palestinians were martyred and 11 others were wounded. They arrived at Al-Baptist Hospital after being targeted by Israeli snipers' bullets southwest of the Gaza Strip, at a time when Israeli talk is escalating about a possible military operation in the Rafah area.
