Israelis demonstrate almost daily to demand early elections and the release of prisoners in Gaza (Anatolia)

Thousands of Israelis demonstrated today, Saturday, in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, demanding the dismissal of the current government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, holding early elections, and reaching an exchange deal to return detainees from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Channel 12 said that thousands demonstrated in downtown Tel Aviv, against Netanyahu's government, and to demand early elections.

The official Broadcasting Authority also reported a massive demonstration in Tel Aviv to demand that the government reach an exchange deal that would guarantee the return of all detainees, and two demonstrations in front of Netanyahu’s homes in Jerusalem.

In turn, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that about 3,000 Israelis demonstrated in the city of Haifa, demanding an immediate change in the government.

It is expected that the pace of demonstrations against the government will increase later this evening throughout Israel, especially the cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Israelis demonstrate - almost daily - to demand early elections and the release of detainees in Gaza, but these demonstrations are concentrated today.

Israeli officials estimate that there are about 136 detainees in the Gaza Strip, since the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) launched - on October 7 last - Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on Israeli military points and settlements surrounding the Strip.

In this attack, the Palestinian resistance captured at least 239 people in towns and cities surrounding Gaza, and exchanged dozens of them with Israel during a temporary humanitarian truce that lasted 7 days and ended in early December.
