 International Jerusalem Week concluded the activities of its fourth edition, yesterday evening, Friday, with Islamic scholars and organizations providing sums of money to support and strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in light of the difficult circumstances they have been living in since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7 last year.

This came during the “Flood of Giving” Festival event, via the “Zoom” virtual platform, as a conclusion to the activities of the week that began on the second of February this year in several countries, most notably Turkey, Qatar, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Algeria, Mauritius, Indonesia and Pakistan.

During the festival, speakers focused on urging people to donate to the people of the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance and necessity of financial jihad in light of the suffering that people are experiencing in the Strip, stressing the great role that financial contributions can play in alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crises that families face in the Gaza Strip. Gaza.

At the conclusion of the event, the value of donations amounted to 127 thousand dollars, in addition to the announcement by the Turkish preacher, Ihsan Shan Ocak, of donations amounting to about 1.5 million dollars, collected last Thursday by businessmen and merchants in the Turkish city of Konya, in an initiative called “Spending Day.” ".

Shan Ojak pointed out that this money was collected through the city’s residents allocating one day’s profits for the benefit of the people of Gaza, and pointed out that the campaign will continue for an additional week with the aim of enhancing the support provided.

In the context of his participation in the “Flood of Giving” festival, preacher Muhammad Al-Hassan bin Al-Dado stressed the importance of effective engagement in the “Flood of Giving” and pointed out that calling this initiative “The Flood” only comes to indicate its greatness and extreme importance.

Al-Dado also called on the participants to donate generously to support the people of Gaza, stressing that spending for the sake of God is one of the highest forms of support and solidarity. He also stressed the need to work by all possible means to support and save Al-Aqsa Mosque, considering donating for this purpose one of the priorities of support that Muslims must provide to their brothers in Palestine.

From Gaza, the director of the Kuwait Specialized Hospital in Gaza, Suhaib Al-Hams, conveyed a painful picture of the reality that the Palestinians are living in the Gaza Strip, calling on the Arab and Islamic world to take serious and effective steps to support Gaza, expressing that the Palestinian people are deeply disappointed in the reaction of the Arab and Islamic countries towards the massacres committed. In their right.

Al-Hams explained that the aid provided, no matter how large, is not enough alone to support the people in Gaza, stressing the necessity of practical action and pressure for a ceasefire and providing the necessary protection for civilians.

For his part, Abdul Majeed Al-Zindani, head of the Yemeni Scholars Association, stressed the legitimacy of resistance as a means to recover the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing the essential role that jihad with money plays in supporting the continuity of this method.

Promote awareness

International Jerusalem Week witnessed many events held with the aim of supporting the Palestinian cause, highlighting the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip, and defending their rights. Jerusalem and the defense of Al-Aqsa Mosque also emerged as one of the most important topics highlighted, especially with the approaching month of Ramadan.

Among the most prominent of these events were the “Flood of the Nation,” “Flood of Scholars,” “Flood of Women Scientists,” “Flood of Youth,” and “Flood of Giving” festivals, which brought together multiple voices from all over the world to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In addition, calls were made to organize peaceful demonstrations demanding a ceasefire and lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of preserving civilian lives and ensuring the arrival of humanitarian aid. The Association of Muslim Scholars also issued calls to unify Friday sermons in mosques in the Islamic world, to enhance awareness of the Palestinian issue and direct prayers to the people of the Gaza Strip.

These activities were not limited to moral support only, but also included collecting donations and humanitarian aid, with the aim of relieving the burdens on the affected families and rebuilding what was destroyed by the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Net, Muhammad Khair Musa, a member of the Executive Office of the Palestine Scholars Association, said that “International Jerusalem Week” represents an open global initiative led by international bodies and institutions, aiming to dedicate the last week of the month of Rajab every year, which coincides with the anniversary of Isra and Mi’raj. The anniversary of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi’s liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as an international week, is commemorated with various programs and events in various countries.

He explained that this year's "International Jerusalem Week" enjoyed wide spread and great influence, deriving its strength from the sacrifices of the people of the Gaza Strip, and that this version of the event witnessed unprecedented interaction in an expression of the nation's interaction with the war of extermination carried out by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, in addition to... He pointed out that the struggle of Gaza and its resistors went beyond protecting the borders of the Palestinian Territory to include defending human values ​​and principles in all parts of the world, which requires members of the Islamic nation to move beyond the stage of negative solidarity and fleeting sympathy to engage effectively and seriously in the current events.
