The department noted that Moscow’s position on the issue of the possible seizure of Russian assets illegally blocked in a number of Western jurisdictions, or other illegal actions depriving Russia of its due profits, remains unchanged.

“We regard any such steps, including the so-called freezing of the assets of Russia, our citizens and companies, as economic banditry on the part of the collective West,” RIA Novosti quoted a representative of the department as saying.

Earlier, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, admitted that using Russia's frozen assets is not an easy task.
