The weather on Friday will be rainy on the eastern side of the country and dominated by an orange flood alert for Pas-de-Calais, according to Météo-France forecasts. Temperatures will remain very mild for the season.

In the South-East of France and in Corsica, in a sustained southern flow, clouds will bring rain from the morning. Precipitation will become moderate in the afternoon and the following night from PACA towards the south of the Massif Central. The largest accumulations will concern the Cévennes, Var and Alpes-Maritimes, locally up to 80 mm. It will snow in the Southern Alps from 1,600/1,700 m, and we expect more than 20 cm above 2,000 m.

A cloudy sky from the southwest to the northeast

From the South-West to the North-East, the sky will remain very cloudy to overcast with light precipitation in the morning, more continuous rain setting in in the afternoon from the Massif Central towards Lorraine, Alsace and the East of Burgundy Franche-Comté. The South-West will temporarily return to less cloudy skies in the afternoon. A little snow will be expected in the Pyrenees from 1,700 m, with a still strong southerly wind.

Unstable weather from the North-West to Hauts-de-France

Over the rest of the country, from the North-West to Hauts-de-France and Champagne-Ardenne, the weather will be unstable under variable skies, alternating between scattered showers and clearings. In the evening, further rain will arrive across the Atlantic coast then reach the west of the country the following night.

The South South-West wind will blow at 50/60 km/h over the northern half of France, 70 km/h near the coasts and in the upper Rhône valley. On the coasts of PACA, the South-East wind will reach 50 to 70 km/h.

Temperatures will remain very mild for the season. Minimums between 7 and 11 degrees from East to West and between 10 and 13 near the coasts. Maximums between 12 and 16 degrees generally from North to South, locally 17 in the Basque Country and Roussillon, 18 to 19 in Corsica.
