Students and parents of

the Irlandesas school

, in the Madrid municipality of Alcobendas, report a series of robberies committed in recent days. Specifically, the events would have occurred the week before leaving the educational center and in an urbanization near it. The municipal group Vox has requested through Twitter "urgently" an increase in security in the municipality.

Fernando Montenegro,

Vox councilor in Alcobendas, tells GRAN MADRID that "individuals on scooters rob children after class." The mayor affirms that one of the robbers has been identified, "approximately 20 years old and a foreigner."

The spokesperson emphasizes that these robberies were at the point of a knife and exposes the "lack of security" in several areas of the Madrid town, such as Soto

, Arroyo de la Vega or Fuente Hito

, among others. "In the center, where there is a lot of illegal immigration, there are a little more, but in these areas there are only two patrols." Sources close to the school have confirmed to this newspaper that two kids in shirts and with a scooter robbed two young high school students when they were leaving school. "One of them had his backpack and cell phone stolen and the other's backpack and money were also stolen," these sources point out.

Continuing along this line, they also highlight another event: "There was another day when some kids approached some girls about 13 years old and told them that they did sell drugs to them and that they were authorized to do so." The robberies have happened, according to these sources, for three days in a row, both at the school in question and in the neighborhoods near it.

The Crime Report, published by the

Ministry of the Interior

on a quarterly basis, provides data relating to robberies in Alcobendas. According to the figures, assaults with violence and intimidation, in the absence of the latest balance sheet for the fourth quarter of 2023, reflect a decrease in 2023 compared to 2022.

However, the report, regarding robberies in homes, establishments and other facilities, shows an increase in 2023, compared to 2022, as well as robberies with force in homes. On the other hand, despite these versions, a statement from the Local Police maintains that upon learning of this information, several police patrols were deployed, both uniformed and plainclothes, but they did not detect "any incident related to the commission of any criminal act." in the areas in question.

«In addition, in the time slot mentioned (between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.), there were no complaints at the National Police Station regarding these events; "if there is a single criminal act that occurred on the 31st around 11 in the morning," the note reads. "So far, the occurrence of any criminal act that could be subsumed into a robbery with violence and intimidation has not been verified," adds sources from the force.
