We believe survivors

Although the suicide of the American billionaire Epstein took place in 2019, and the Netflix platform did not release the short documentary series “Jeffrey Epstein: Extraordinary Rich” until 2020, the makers of the series began implementing it in 2018, before Epstein’s sudden arrest and the case’s return to the media spotlight, and at that time they were not They have enough certainty that the work will see the light, especially in light of the difficulty they faced in obtaining testimonies from the victims and the hesitation of many women to participate.

However, in the face of the insistence of the author and director of the series, Lisa Bryant, and the courage of some of the survivors, this work was released to the public, even if it cannot be described as profound or documented with documents and evidence, since the majority of what was stated in it came from the words of the victims and not Epstein himself or his close circle.

However, the importance of these documentaries cannot be denied and the fact that they reveal the secrets of the American justice system, and how those with political or material influence can bend the arm of the state and the law and turn the scales of justice upside down.

Who is Jeffrey Epstein?

Epstein was born in New York in 1953. He was so intelligent that he skipped several years of school due to his abilities. Although he did not obtain a university degree, he was able to deceive and work as a teacher without anyone realizing his lie.

That was just the beginning. After that, he worked in investment banking and then founded his own company. Because of his tremendous ability to persuade, which always enabled him to get what he wanted, he succeeded in establishing a network of relationships with celebrities and politicians until he became one of the largest businessmen and elites.

What no one knew was that he was a deviant person who committed many crimes against underage girls for many years.

Although the painter Maria Farmer and her teenage sister Annie had previously reported to the FBI that Epstein had assaulted them in 1996, the latter, through his influence, was able to get out of the impasse without receiving any punishment.

Deal of the century

In 2005, Palm Beach police returned to investigate after a woman accused him of molesting her teenage stepdaughter, and police began collecting evidence of Epstein's behavior.

Once again, Epstein's influence over justice prevailed, as his lawyers were able to make a deal known at the time as the "Deal of the Century", according to which he escaped from a life sentence and the 2007 non-prosecution agreement was granted to him and people in his circle who were involved with him, and the case against him was suspended in exchange for a sentence of imprisonment for a period of time. 18 months and released him for 12 hours a day, 6 days a week during which he could meet friends, work and enjoy his life, before he was released on conditional probation after only 13 months, which caused shock to many of the police officers who supervised the case, and failed the victims who The lives of some of them were destroyed after their affairs were exposed and newspapers published their pictures and real information.

Who killed Epstein?

In 2018, Epstein returned to attention after a newspaper highlighted the role of US Attorney General Alexander Acosta in negotiating the “deal of the century,” which resulted in a decision to detain Epstein.

On August 10, 2019, after those close to him abandoned him and he was awaiting the court’s ruling on charges related to sexual assault on girls, he was found hanged in his cell.

According to forensic medicine, the incident was recorded as a suicide, although there are many theories in which those who believe that he was killed so that all secrets died with him, including those adopted by the forensic specialist appointed by Mark, Epstein’s brother, confirming that Epstein did not commit suicide, and the evidence is some fractures in his neck. Which cannot be produced by hanging, but rather by suffocation.

Aside from the medical reasons, there are some other implicit signs that are suspicious, such as the guards who were assigned to guard him and check on him every half hour, but they decided to sleep on the night of his death, the failure of the surveillance cameras, and his cellmate who was transferred without being replaced by another. Can all these details come together? Coincidence on the same day that Epstein decided to commit suicide?

However, the issue is still subject to returning to the spotlight at any time, and thus we can witness other documentaries in the future that introduce us to details that we do not realize today.
