White House press statement +++ To all media +++ Subject: Clarification.
After President Joseph R. Biden Jr.'s joint press conference. with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the White House clarifies the following potentially misleading statements made by the President:
Chancellor Scholz's first name is Olaf, not Martin. The German Chancellor's last name is Scholz, not Schulz. Olaf Scholz is Chancellor, not President. He rules in Germany, not France. The President of France is called Macron, not Mercron, and he is not married to Scholz's predecessor. This is not called Mercron, but Merkel. Related congratulations on the particularly deep German-French partnership are pointless. In Germany, payments are made with the euro, not the “German Merkel”. The President does not consider the European Union to be a union.
The President and Chancellor do not want to continue supporting Uruguay with arms deliveries, but rather Ukraine. The White House does not consider Georgia to be a US state.
